These Terms of Use govern this website, submissions, editorial consideration and paid services. By using the site or submitting materials, you agree to the applicable terms below.

These terms describe the rules for using Occupy Acting, submitting materials, and purchasing services.
These Terms of Use govern this website, submissions, editorial consideration and paid services. By using the site or submitting materials, you agree to the applicable terms below.
Our newsletter is published and delivered through Substack. When you subscribe, Substack processes your email address under its own terms and privacy policy, and you can unsubscribe at any time from any issue.
Editorial content, branding, and design materials on this site may not be copied or redistributed without permission.
Scripts, ideas, concepts or other creative material sent outside a designated submission route may be deleted unread. Material sent through a designated submission form or paid review route may be read and is governed by the Submission Release below.
Every submission is non-confidential and non-obligatory. We owe no compensation for ideas, and we may independently develop or receive similar material from unconnected sources without creating a claim. We have no obligation to read, publish or promote anything except a specific deliverable that has been purchased. You warrant that you own or control all necessary rights and will indemnify us against claims arising from submitted material. You keep ownership, while granting Occupy Acting a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to reproduce, excerpt, adapt, display and distribute the materials and your name, likeness and credits for editorial and promotional use. For performers, this expressly includes headshots, reels and likeness. This warranty, indemnity and licence survive termination.
Occupy Cinema LLC is a publisher. Occupy Acting promotes editorial content and paid publicity only to its own audience. We are not a talent agency, a manager, a producer representative or a sales agent. We do not seek, procure or attempt to procure employment, auditions, castings, engagements, financing, distribution or any other opportunity for anyone or any project. We do not submit performers for roles, put performers forward for casting, contact casting directors, agents, managers or producers on anyone's behalf, make introductions, or represent performers. Nothing creates an agency, partnership, employment or fiduciary relationship.
The Development and Positioning Package includes: a full review of the materials you submit, including treatment, script, deck, look book or cut; a written positioning document covering how the project should be framed, who it speaks to, and the strongest angle for an audience; a dedicated multi slide carousel built from your materials and published to our audience; a feature in our newsletter; and one round of revisions on the positioning document. Occupy Cinema LLC is a publisher. We are not a talent agency, a manager, a producer representative or a sales agent. We do not seek, procure or attempt to procure employment, financing, distribution or any other engagement for you or your project, and we do not make introductions on your behalf. What you are buying is promotion and publicity to our own audience, plus written feedback. We do not guarantee any outcome, deal, audience response or result.
Free submissions are considered at our discretion. We receive more submissions than we can run and choose only a select few each week. We cannot promise a feature or promotion, but eligible filmmakers and performers are encouraged to submit.
The actor Guaranteed Placement costs $149 USD and guarantees the purchased feature on Occupy Acting. It does not include a newsletter highlight. You may request a full refund before production or review begins. Once production or review begins, the purchase is non-refundable. If we decline or cancel for a reason other than your breach or a rights problem, we provide a full or proportionate refund for undelivered work. Unused credits remain valid for 12 months. We do not guarantee views, reach, engagement, employment, auditions, castings, representation or any other outcome.
A sponsored placement is an editorial carousel of up to 10 frames, built by us from the assets you supply, and published to the Occupy Acting Instagram, Facebook and TikTok accounts. Placements are sold by Occupy Cinema LLC at a fixed one-time fee of $295 USD. Your card statement will read Occupy Cinema LLC.
After payment you receive a private link to upload your assets, caption copy and brief. We produce a proof within 48 hours of receiving complete materials, and nothing publishes until you approve that proof. Go-live dates are best-effort and may move with our editorial calendar.
You may request a full refund before production or review begins. Once production or review has begun, the fee is non-refundable. If we decline or cancel for a reason other than your breach or a rights problem, we provide a full or proportionate refund for undelivered work. An unused placement credit remains valid for 12 months from purchase. Placement questions go to contact@occupycinema.com.
You warrant that you own or are licensed to use everything you submit, and you grant us the licence needed to produce and publish the placement. You indemnify us against any claim arising from material you supplied.
We do not guarantee views, reach, impressions, engagement, follower growth, auditions, castings, representation, press pickup, or any career or commercial outcome. Audience figures are approximate, come from third-party reporting we do not control, and are not a promise of delivered reach. Platform moderation is outside our control.
Every placement carries a paid-partnership disclosure in line with FTC guidance and platform rules. We may decline or remove material at our discretion, and a published placement remains on our accounts at our discretion. We may remove it later without a refund.
We check the IMDb name page you gave us. If we cannot confirm the person submitting directed the film, the submission is declined. Verification is not a review of the film.
Submitting to be Featured is free. There is no submission fee and no payment is taken. Submitting does not guarantee a feature.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the specific service giving rise to the claim. Nothing limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, willful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything that cannot lawfully be excluded. Any unenforceable limitation applies to the maximum extent permitted, and the remainder of these terms stays in effect.
Rights licences, warranties, indemnities, payment obligations, liability limits and any terms intended by their nature to continue survive termination. We may update these terms and will identify the current version and effective date. Contact contact@occupycinema.com with questions.
